INTRODUCTION

Heartland Energy Group conducted a corrosion testing to evaluate the effect of Oil Safe AR® Neat and Oil Safe AR® 1050 Blend under typical acidizing conditions on the corrosion of carbon steel for one of our clients. The agreed test protocol was to evaluate the corrosion rate and mass loss of API L80 carbon steel exposed to Oil Safe AR® Neat and Oil Safe AR® 1050 Blend at a temperature of 300°F. The total exposure time was approximately 6 hours. The total exposure time was to include the time to heat and cool the autoclave.

SUMMARY

This test program was designed to evaluate the effect of Oil Safe AR® Neat and Oil Safe AR® 1050 Blend under typical acidizing conditions on the corrosion of carbon steel. The objective was to determine the corrosion rate and mass loss of API L80 carbon steel in Oil Safe AR® Neat and Oil Safe AR® 1050 Blend at a temperature of 300°F. The total exposure time was approximately 6 hours, including the time to heat and cool the autoclave. The results and conclusions from the testing are given below.
